Baffle filters are the first line of defense in your exhaust system. Once they're loaded with grease, they stop catching it. The grease then moves into the plenum and duct, where it's harder and more expensive to clean.
We steam-clean filters on a schedule that matches your cooking volume. That's often monthly, or between your full hood cleanings. We check each filter as we go. A bent, broken or missing filter leaves a gap that lets grease straight through, so we flag every one.

Questions about hood filter cleaning
Can't we just run the hood filters through the dish machine?
It helps, but it isn't enough. Dish machines don't run hot or long enough to remove baked-on grease from inside the baffles. Steam cleaning gets the grease the dish machine leaves behind.
Does filter cleaning replace a full hood cleaning?
No. Clean filters slow down how fast the ductwork loads up. But fire code still requires the full system to be cleaned on schedule. Filter service keeps you in better shape between those cleanings.
